ACON is Australia’s most recognised LGBTQI non-profit organisation. They’re working towards a tough goal, which is to half HIV transmissions in NSW by 2020, and also provide their own HIV and STI testing service in Sydney.
Goal
Improve Organic Search performance for blog posts, growing both international and Australian traffic. The client also wanted to reduce the bounce rate on the blog.
Approach
Working with the marketing team at ACON, we developed an SEO-driven content strategy with two components: optimise and improve the search performance of existing content, and create new SEO-driven blog posts.
Results
From January 1st to June 31st of 2019, the client’s organic results quadrupled.

The University of Newcastle is in the top three percent of universities worldwide, with six subjects ranked in the world’s top 100 and an overall total of 15 subjects ranked in the world’s top 200. Its twelve schools have a total enrollment of 37,000 students and employ over 2,500 academic and administrative staff.
Goal
With a sprawling web presence consisting of hundreds of thousands of pages across multiple faculties, microsites and other web applications, Reef was tasked with formulating a commercially effective organic search strategy. The aim was to optimise degree, major and study area pages to rank for the correct, intent-focused keywords and to increase conversions for the University’s Undergraduate degree programs.
Approach
Working closely with key stakeholders from both faculty and administrative staff, Reef optimised 164 study areas, degree and major pages based around the customer journey tha prospective students would typically take. We also delivered SEO training.
Results
By focusing the optimisation of the site on intent-based keywords around the prospective customer journey, relevant to each page grouping, traffic quality greatly improved.

Care Careers is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to attract talented people from all backgrounds to work in the disability, community and aged care sector in Australia. Its job board is an Australia-wide platform for a broad range of roles within aged care, disability, community and healthcare, and they offer a fully staffed Careers Centre to assist jobseekers and advertisers.
Goal
Use PPC to help position CareCareers as a leading platform for the Australian care sector, boosting the number of job seekers who find their perfect role and increasing overall job subscriptions and applications on the Care Careers website.
Approach
Working closely together, Reef helped Care Careers to apply for the Google Ad Grants program which provides a free search advertising budget to eligible nonprofit organisations. With this in place and a clear set of objectives for how to use it along with a standard paid budget, Reef formulated a strategy using Search, Display, YouTube and Social ads, together.
Results
A robust presence across search, display and video channels delivering a 300% boost in conversions over six months.

Goal
Improve PPC performance with a focus on driving conversions and improving brand awareness.
Approach
Working closely with ACRF, we formulated a new strategy for using their Google Ad Grant alongside standard Google Ads, using each for its strengths. We also expanded activity across Display, YouTube Ads and Social Advertising, and helped provide SEO guidance to successfully navigate a website redesign.

Opera Australia is Australia’s national opera company. Since its foundation in 1956, it has showcased the world’s greatest opera and musical theatre.
Goal
Raise awareness and drive conversions from people in Australia and researching from abroad.
Approach
Opera Australia has both a normal Google Ads account and a Google Grant Account, so we formed a strategy to use each to its potential by selectively targeting various stages of the audience buying cycle. We also carried out our standard operating procedures of restructuring the Google Ads accounts to improve targeting, continuously introducing new ad copy variations as challengers and to stay up-to-date with new events, taking advantage of ad extensions, expanding and refining keywords, alternating bid strategies and improving tracking capabilities to generate better data for optimisation.
Results
Digital advertising continues to be a key traffic and conversion driver for the organisation.
